Interior Secretary Burgum praises Trump's actions on nuclear power: 'This is a huge day for the nuclear industry'

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum on Friday praised President Donald Trump for signing executive orders that aim to streamline the expansion of nuclear power in the United States as part of his effort to foster American energy dominance.

“This is a huge day for the nuclear industry,” Burgum said from the Oval Office. "Mark this day on your calendar. This is going to turn the clock back on over 50 years of overregulation.”

The president signed four executive orders related to nuclear energy, including one that addressed nuclear reactor testing and reformed the regulatory process around it.
