President Donald Trump said that he would cut off funding for South Africa due to its new land-expropriation law.

"A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social on Sunday. "The United States won’t stand for it, we will act."

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signed a law in January that gives the state authority to seize private land in the public interest.

At times, compensation will not be given to those who have their land taken away, according to the Yahoo Finance outlet.

Ramaphosa said in a statement Monday that the government has not confiscated any land yet and defended the law, saying its principles were similar to the U.S. and U.K.

"It is a bad situation that the Radical Left Media doesn’t want to so much as mention," Trump said.

Trump also said that certain classes of people in South Africa were being treated badly.
