Ex-leader of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon arrested in connection to probe into her party's finances
She resigned from her position as first minister in February after leading Scotland for more than eight years.
Nicola Sturgeon, the former leader of Scotland, was arrested Sunday and is being questioned in connection to an investigation into her party's finances, officials said.
"A 52-year-old woman has today, ​Sunday, 11 June, 2023, been arrested as a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party. The woman is in custody and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives," Scotland police said.
That woman was confirmed by multiple media reports to be former First Minister Sturgeon.
She resigned from her position as first minister in February after leading Scotland for more than eight years.
