Ukrainians protest Zelensky after he removes defense minister
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov was viewed as an innovator of the country's successful use of drones, but he clashed with the traditional military establishment.
Ukrainian protesters took to the streets on Thursday to voice opposition to President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to remove his defense minister.
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov was viewed as an innovator of the country's successful use of drones, but he clashed with the traditional military establishment, the Associated Press reported.
Zelensky this week also replaced Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who only served in the role for one year.
Fedorov clashed with the commander of Ukraine's armed forces, Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi, Zelensky said at a news conference. If the two men couldn't resolve their issues, Zelensky said, he was going to resolve them.
