Ukrainian forces reportedly recaptured Andriivka village in the country’s northeastern Sumy region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday.
Zelensky said in his nightly video address that the offensive was part of a drive over the past week to expel Russian forces from the area, Reuters reported, where Russia had placed 53,000 troops.
He also said that Ukraine had achieved positive results near Pokrovsk, where Russia had focused attacks for months as part of their advance on the eastern front. Zelensky also said there were “strong results” near Kupiansk in northeastern Ukraine.
