India planning to keep buying Russian oil: NYT report
“I understand that India is no longer going to be buying oil from Russia,” Trump told reporters. “That’s what I heard. I don’t know if that’s right or not. That is a good step. We will see what happens.”
India is going to continue to buy Russian oil despite warnings from President Trump and the U.S. government.
A report from the New York Times citing senior Indian officials revealed the news on Saturday.
The NYT report follows reporting from Reuters the day prior that said refineries in India had paused Russian oil purchases.
On Friday, Trump had said India might stop buying Russian oil.
