Afghanistan says it has killed 58 Pakistani soldiers during border operations
According to the Associated Press, Pakistan said more than 200 “Taliban and affiliated terrorists have been neutralized, while the number of injured is much higher.”
Afghanistan announced on Sunday that its forces had killed 58 Pakistani soldiers during clashes along the disputed border region.
The fighting occurred in the Kunar and Khost provinces of eastern Afghanistan.
The Afghan Interior Ministry said its forces responded to incursions by Pakistani troops into Afghan territory.
In response, Pakistan’s military denied the scale of the claims, stating that casualties were significantly fewer than reported.
Afghan officials have said Afghan forces seized weapons and equipment in response to the incursions.
