Blogger sentenced to death in Iran after criticizing supreme leader

She was charged with corruption after allegedly engaging in “media and propaganda activities against national security” and working “on behalf of hostile governments," according to reports

Soda Ebrahimi Shamsabadi, a 33-year-old Iranian blogger, has been sentenced to death after insulting the supreme leader.

The New York Post reported on Saturday that she has been held since March in solidarity confinement. 

Shamsabadi allegedly photographed an area where a missile hit and sent the photo to a Persian-language media outlet outside of Iran, the Iran International outlet reported.

She was charged with corruption after allegedly engaging in “media and propaganda activities against national security” and working “on behalf of hostile governments," the outlet reported, citing Iranian outlets.
