Ex-CBP boss says the withdrawal from Afghanistan undermined US intelligence abilities
Morgan said a terrorist attack will happen on U.S. soil because of the failures of the Biden-Harris administration.
Former Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan said the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan resulted in the U.S. being unable to gather intelligence about potential security threats from the country.
"When we pulled out, especially the way we did, we also left behind any capability, all of our eyes and ears, to gather that intelligence, to know exactly what's going on and what's being planned, especially with respect to attacks on our homeland," Morgan said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.
The United States withdrew its troops from Afghanistan in August 2021, resulting in the Taliban retaking the country and 13 United States soldiers dying.
Regarding national security, Morgan also said the U.S. has turned a blind eye to what is going on at the northern and southern borders.
He said the failures of the Biden-Harris administration have made the U.S. vulnerable.
"It's not if or when the terrorist threat comes to our country," he said. "We already know that's happening. It's already here."
