At least 52 killed in Pakistan explosion during celebration of Islamic Prophet Muhammad's birthday
Investigators are looking into whether the bombing was a suicide attack.
At least 52 people died in Pakistan and 70 others were injured as the result of an explosion during a festival celebrating Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on Friday.
The explosion came from a bomb and occurred in the district of Mastung, according to the Associated Press.
District Health Officer Abdul Rasheed said many of the injured are in critical condition.
Investigators are looking into whether the bombing was a suicide attack.
Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi condemned the attack and asked authorities to assist in helping the wounded and the victims' families.
No one has yet to claim responsibility for the attack.
