Iranian missile attacks on Monday killed five people in Israel as Israeli Defense Forces say it has now achieved air superiority over Tehran.

As Israel has continued attacking Iran's missile and air defense systems following its initial attack on military and nuclear sites on Friday, the IDF said its aircraft controls Iranian airspace from the western part of the country to Tehran, The Associated Press reported.

The Israeli military claims it destroyed more than 120 of Iran's surface-to-surface missile launchers, one-third of the country's total number, that had been firing at Israel during overnight missions.

“Now we can say that we have achieved full air supremacy in the Tehran airspace,” IDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said.

Iran said it had launched 100 missiles and would continue retaliating against Israel for its attacks, in which at least 224 people have been killed since Friday.

U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee posted on X on Monday that an Iranian missile hit near the American consulate in Tel Aviv, causing minor damage, but that no U.S. personnel were injured.

Israel says that 24 people have been killed and more than 500 injured as Iran launched hundreds of drones and more than 370 missiles. The IDF, in response, sent fighter jets that struck 10 Quds Force command centers in Tehran, which is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's elite arm that conducts military and intelligence operations outside the country.
