Trump effect: Israel gets first shipment of U.S. bombs since Biden administration halted them
Israel’s Defense Ministry confirmed the bombs arrived over the weekend.
The Trump administration shipped 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, making it the first shipment to the Jewish state since the Biden administration blocked them from being sent.
After President Donald Trump got into office, he lifted the hold on the bombs from the Biden administration.
Israel’s Defense Ministry confirmed the bombs arrived over the weekend.
“The munitions shipment that arrived in Israel tonight, released by the Trump Administration, represents a significant asset for the Air Force and the IDF and serves as further evidence of the strong alliance between Israel and the United States,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement posted to Facebook.
Katz said that the U.S. and Israel would continue to work together to strengthen security.
The bombs also arrived around the time Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to The Daily Wire.
Israel is currently under a ceasefire agreement with the terrorist group Hamas where both sides are releasing prisoners and hostages as part of the deal.
Israel has been at war with Hamas since 2023 when the terrorist group attacked Israel and killed 1,200 people.
