Navy crewmember missing after helicopter makes 'emergency water landing' in Arabian Sea
U.S. Naval Forces Central Command wrote on social media that there is “no indication the emergency was caused by hostile action.”
A Navy helicopter made an “emergency water landing” in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday morning. One of the four crewmen is missing, according to the U.S. military.
The twin-engine helicopter, an MH-60S Seahawk, is assigned to the USS George H.W. Bush, one of the two carriers operating in the U.S. Central Command theater. It can be used for search and rescue, combat support and other efforts, according to The Hill.
U.S. Naval Forces Central Command wrote on social media that there is “no indication the emergency was caused by hostile action.”
While a search is underway for the missing crewman, the other three were recovered and are back on the carrier in stable condition. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
