US investigating leaked documents that show Israel's plans to attack Iran: report
The leak was reportedly done by a pro-Iranian account.
Classified US intelligence documents that show Israel's plans to retaliate against Iran have been leaked and an investigation is taking place, according to reports.
Sources told CNN that the leak is very concerning.
The documents were leaked online Friday after they were posted to a Telegram account called “Middle East Spectator.”
Axios reported that the leak was done by a pro-Iranian account.
The documents go into detail about plans Israel has to attack Iran. The documents were reportedly complied by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
A U.S. official told CNN that they are investigating who had access to these alleged Pentagon documents.
“If it is true that Israeli tactical plans to respond to Iran’s attack on October 1 have been leaked, it is a serious breach,” former deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Middle East Mick Mulroy told the outlet.
