The terrorist organization Hamas on Friday said that it is ready to release all Israeli hostages and discuss President Donald Trump's proposed peace agreement.

The statement comes after Trump gave Hamas a Sunday deadline to agree to the terms of his peace deal. 

Hamas also signaled an agreement to give up power in the Gaza Strip as a way to end its war with Israel, according to the Associated Press. Israel has already agreed to the proposed peace plan.

Hamas said in a statement reported by NBC News that the group "affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss the details of this agreement. The movement also renews its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support."
