President Donald Trump announced in a social media post on Wednesday that Hamas and Israel have signed off on the first phase of a peace deal in Gaza.

"This means that all of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS," he added.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to confirm that he agreed to the first phase of the peace plan in an X post on Wednesday night, where he stated that "with God's help we will bring them all home."

Netanyahu also said that he would convene his government on Thursday to formally approve the agreement. It was not immediately clear how soon the hostages would be released after the agreement is approved.
