Senate panel recommends Trump attorney general pick Bondi gets final confirmation vote
Bondi's confirmation vote is likely to take place this week.
The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday voted in favor of sending the nomination for Pam Bondi as U.S. attorney general to a final, full chamber vote.
The committee recommendation vote was party line – with all 12 Republicans members voting yes and the 10 Democrat members voting no for the President Donald Trump nominee and former Florida attorney general, according to Fox News.
Bondi's final confirmation vote is expected to take place this week, and she is expected to be confirmed in the GOP-controlled upper chamber.
As Florida's top law enforcement official, Bondi made tackling crime and drug trafficking a top priority.
She was selected after former Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination for consideration.
