Tyson Foods announced this week that it would stop using high-fructose corn syrup in its products by the end of the year.

“We continuously review and assess our product portfolio to ensure the highest quality products that meet the needs of consumers,” Tyson Foods CEO Donnie King said in a statement on Monday, according to The Hill newspaper

“Our decision to remove High Fructose Corn Syrup and other ingredients reflects our ongoing commitment to feeding the world like family, while preserving the taste, value and integrity that define our iconic brands,” the statement continued.

The food processing company also announced that it would stop using the preservatives BHA/BHT, titanium dioxide and sucralose by the end of 2025.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary announced in April that the agencies would require food companies to remove synthetic dyes from their products.

Tyson Foods announced in May that the company has been working to remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes in food products.
