GOP senator warns Democrats will nuke filibuster in the future to ‘maintain power’

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., warned that Senate Democrats will eliminate the filibuster if they win the House, Senate and White House in the future.

"Every last one of them in the Senate right now has pledged to nuke the filibuster. I can't imagine a Democrat Senate or a Senate candidate not having to pledge that," Johnson said on "Sunday Morning Futures" on Fox News. 

"So when they gain power, and that's what we need to prevent… they'll nuke the filibuster to maintain power," he added. 

President Trump has said the Senate GOP should get rid of the filibuster to reopen the government and pass other items on his agenda.
