The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill to release files regarding the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The vote was 427-1, with a Republican voting against the bill. Two Republicans and three Democrats didn't vote. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., said Tuesday that he has been "a principled 'NO' on this bill from the beginning."

The bipartisan measure, known as a discharge petition, gained widespread GOP support after President Trump said he would sign it into law if it was passed by Congress, reversing his previous stance.

Supporters of having the Justice Department release all of the files think they include information about Epstein's relationship with some of the world's most powerful men, including whether Epstein provided them with young women for sex.
