Sen. Lee says SAVE Act closer to passage with 49 Senate sponsors
“We now have enough votes to pass a motion to proceed to the House-passed bill—even without any additional votes—with @VP breaking the tie,” Lee says
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah., announced on Friday that the House-passed SAVE America Act is closer to passage.
"We’ve got 49 Senate sponsors of the SAVE America Act and at least one more—Senator Collins—who supports it, and that takes us to 50!" he wrote.
We now have enough votes to pass a motion to proceed to the House-passed bill—even without any additional votes—with @VP breaking the tie," he added.
The bill would require voters to show proof of citizenship to register to vote and photo identification to cast a ballot.
