Senate set for final confirmation vote on Scott Bessent for Treasury secretary

The Senate will vote Monday on confirming Scott Bessent for Treasury secretary.

The chamber's Finance Committee last recommended advancing President Trump's nominee to a final, full Senate vote. 

The Senate voted 67-23 in a preliminary vote this past weekend, setting up the final vote, scheduled of late Monday afternoon. 

Bessent is a billionaire hedge fund manager and investor.
