California Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer "should be replaced" after eight Senate Democratic caucus members voted for a bill to end the government shutdown.

"Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?" Khanna posted on X late Sunday.

Rep. Mark Pocan, a progressive Democrat from Wisconsin, also blasted Schumer late Sunday.

“Tonight is another example of why we need new leadership,” jeered Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), who recently threw his hat in the ring to challenge Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). “If @ChuckSchumer were an effective leader, he would have united his caucus to vote ‘No’ tonight and hold the line on healthcare."
