Judicial Watch court hearing set over FBI records on Twitter requested under Biden admin
The hearing is set for Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET.
A federal court hearing has been set in Judicial Watch's lawsuit over FBI records on Twitter that were requested under the Biden administration.
The hearing was set earlier this month by U.S. District Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan for Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET, Judicial Watch announced on Tuesday.
The watchdog group filed the Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the departments of Justice and Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in April 2023 regarding records of any FBI official and key Twitter employees between June 2020 and December 2022.
The lawsuit was filed after the FBI failed to respond to a December 2022 FOIA records request. Judicial Watch is looking for records concerning Hunter Biden’s laptop and other censorship conducted by Twitter as well as documents on two meetings that occurred between the FBI under the Biden administration and the social media company.
Jim Baker, Vijaya Gadde, and Yoel Roth, are all referenced in the lawsuit, as they were prominent in internal discussions at Twitter about censoring the New York Post’s story on the Hunter Biden laptop, which journalist Matt Taibbi revealed in the December 2022 release of the “Twitter Files.”
“It is frustrating beyond belief for Judicial Watch to have to go to federal court for basic information on Biden’s abuse of the FBI, using Twitter to censor and monitor Americans,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement on Tuesday.
