Man allegedly fired from job after wearing religious shirts during Pride Month reaches settlement
His lawsuit says he was required to attend DEI training sessions and he was targeted for not agreeing with the use of pronouns
An Iowa man has reached an unspecified settlement with his former employer that he sued for allegedly firing him after he wore t-shirts with Bible verse messages on them during the company's LGBTQ Pride Month celebration.
Cosby Cunningham of Iowa was fired in August 2023. He filed the lawsuit against Eaton Corp in federal court in the same month after the firing.
His lawsuit said he was required to attend DEI training sessions and he was "singled out" not agreeing with the use of pronouns, Fox News reported.
Cunningham said in the lawsuit that Human Resources called him into a meeting after apparently receiving complaints that his shirt was making others feel uncomfortable.
The case was dismissed on May 20 after a settlement was reached.
