Second day of sex trafficking case against Sean 'Diddy' Combs continues with more jury selection
The 150 potential jurors were also asked questions about whether they had been victims of sexual assault or what their views on law enforcement were.
The second day of the racketeering and sex trafficking trial for hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs trial began Tuesday in a Manhattan courtroom with more jury selection.
Six of the first seven prospective jurors failed to qualify for the jury pool, according to a local ABC News TV station.
On Monday, 150 potential jurors had to answer a questionnaire in which they were asked how familiar they were with roughly 190 celebrities including rapper Kanye West, actor-comedian Mike Myers and actor Michael B. Jordan, according to Variety magazine.
Combs, 55, faces charges of transportation to engage in prostitution, racketeering and sex trafficking. He was arrested in September 2024 in Manhattan and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Prosecutors say the charges against Combs are in relation to “elaborate and produced sex performances” known as “freak offs.”
Prosecutors say there were multiple hotel room encounters that involved heavy drug use and coerced sex, according to NBC News.
His arrest came after a months-long investigation that included raids on his homes in Miami, Florida and Los Angeles, California.
Combs, if convicted, faces decades in prison. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The potential jurors were also asked questions about whether they had been victims of sexual assault or what their views on law enforcement were.
