Protesters clashed this week with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents outside a San Francisco immigration court as an illegal immigrant was being detained.

ICE agents have been showing up at immigration hearings and detaining illegal immigrants, which they did on Tuesday when protesters were blocking the doors to the courthouse, NBC Bay Area reported

The ICE agents pushed the male illegal immigrant through the protesters and into a van. Some protesters got onto the hood of the van as it was attempting to drive away.

Protesters followed ICE agents from the courthouse to another building until a car pulled up and a federal officer stepped out, brandishing a gun and yelling at the protesters to "back up."

"Protesers violently attacked and obstructed federal ICE officers who were simply doing their job by enforcing our nation’s laws," said a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson.

On Friday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement corrections officers and a police officer were shotoutside the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. The police officer was injured, and 10 people have been charged in connection with a shooting.
