The Transportation Security Administration said that PreCheck remains operational after a prior announcement from the Department of Homeland Security that the flight-security program had been suspended amid the partial government shutdown.

“As staffing constraints arise, TSA will evaluate on a case by case basis and adjust operations accordingly,” the agency said Sunday, according to the Associated Press.

It is unclear whether Global Entry would be affected. PreCheck and Global Entry help speed registered travelers through security lines.

The partial government shutdown began Feb. 14 after Democrats and Republicans were unable to reach a deal on legislation to fund DHS. Democrats have demanded reforms to the Trump administration's immigration operations as part of any deal to resume funding for the agency.

DHS previously said it was taking “emergency measures to preserve limited funds,” which included “ending Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck lanes and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Global Entry service, to refocus Department personnel on the majority of travelers.”

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said Saturday night that “shutdowns have serious real world consequences."
