Three months after Decarlos Brown Jr. was charged with the first-degree murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte light rail, another suspect has been charged with attempted first-degree murder on the same transit system.

Oscar Solarzano, 33, allegedly stabbed a male victim Friday night who was found "where the train appeared to have stopped between stations" but is now in stable condition, Charlotte ABC affiliate WSOC reported.

He is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

Newsweek confirmed President Trump's Truth Social post that called Solarzano an "illegal migrant," obtaining a Mecklenburg District Court document that says Solarzano is here illegally and has been previously deported.
