Law enforcement presence intensified late Friday night at a site roughly two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona, nearly two weeks after the 84-year-old disappeared.

Authorities have not said what specifically led investigators to that location.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS affiliate KOLD that the site is tied to the investigation, adding that they are "actively working a lead. I cannot say anything else."

Several hours later, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department released a short statement.

"Law enforcement activity is underway at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave related to the Guthrie case. Because this is a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI - no additional information is currently available," read the statement.

Nancy Guthrie, whose daughter Savannah Guthrie co-hosts the "Today" show, was last seen on Jan. 31 and reported missing on Feb. 1. Investigators believe she was taken from her home overnight.

In a Friday afternoon update, the sheriff’s department said DNA not belonging to Nancy Guthrie or anyone in her close circle was recovered from her home, and authorities are working to determine its source.

Officials declined to specify where on the property the DNA was discovered.
