Suspect's plan in Buffalo supermarket massacre was 'driving down' street to shoot more, police

The suspected shooter in the Buffalo, New York, supermarket massacre this past weekend planned to leave the store and continue killing people down the street, police said Monday.

“It appeared that his plans were to drive out of here and continue driving down Jefferson Avenue looking to shoot more black people as he could and possibly go to another store location,” Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said on ABC's "Good Morning America."

The 18-year-old suspect, Payton Gendron, on Saturday is accused of fatally shooting 10 people and injuring three others before surrendering to authorities, according to NBC News.

Police are classifying the attack a hate crime because 11 of 13 people who were shot were black.
