ICE nabs 1,300+ illegals in DC area in 2-week op

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended more than 1,300 illegal aliens in the Washington, D.C., area, including the Virginia and Maryland suburbs, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Fox News.

The two-week operation saw agents nab 1,328 illegal aliens, including roughly 400 with prior criminal convictions. Among those apprehended were illegals previously convicted for attempted murder, robbery, rape, and other crimes.

News of the operation comes as the Trump administration seeks to move forward with the mass deportation agenda promised on the campaign trail, but has embraced a quieter approach than that under former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

The operation primarily targeted D.C. and the suburban areas of Maryland and Virginia, many of which are sanctuary jurisdictions that do not cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
