Illegal migrant who also is member of the terrorist group Hezbollah is set to be deported
Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was taken into custody by border patrol agents on March 9.
An illegal migrant from Lebanon who also admitted to being a member of the terrorist group Hezbollah, is set to be deported, according to news reports.
Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was taken into custody Sunday by border patrol agents. He was caught in El Paso, Texas, and is in federal custody.
Ebbadi is slated to be deported, but it is not clear when that will happen.
He reportedly told investigators that he was planning to go to New York to make a bomb and his training from Hezbollah was focused on "jihad," according to Fox News.
Ebbadi was also referred to the Tactical Terrorism Response Team (TTRT) due to making threats to personnel.
"If an individual poses a potential threat to national security or public safety, we deny admission, detain, remove, or refer them to other federal agencies for further vetting, investigation and/or prosecution as appropriate," a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol spokesperson told Fox News.
