Ratcliffe in Moscow trip warned Russian intellegence officers not to attack NATO countries: reports

CIA Director John Ratcliffe's personal visit to Moscow this week saw him warn Russia against any strikes on NATO nations, multiple outlets have reported.

Ratcliffe visited Russia this week and met with intelligence officials, but not President Vladimir Putin. The meeting came amid reported concerns from Washington that Russia could attack one of the Baltic States, all of which are in NATO, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022 and the conflict has shown no signs of ending, despite the best efforts of the Trump administration to broker a deal.

President Donald Trump later told conservative media personality Glenn Beck that the trip was "semi-routine."

Fears of an escalation in Eastern Europe come amid the ongoing Iran war, which has seen the U.S. deplete much of its air defense and missile arsenal.
