Rubio planning high-level meeting with delegates from 70 countries to address far-left terrorism

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is planning a meeting with delegates from more than 70 countries to address the threat of terrorism from far-left ideologies. 

Rubio describes the "resurgence of transnational far-left terrorism" as being an overlooked threat that deserves attention, ABC News reported, citing State Department documents. 

The international community's counterterrorism focus on far-left terrorism threats, Rubio said in a note shared with foreign governments, remains "underestimated and under-resourced, despite the danger it poses." 

The note describes the concept of the planned meeting, which will take place in Washington on Thursday, and says that a "globally networked" group of far-left terrorists are turning to violence to advance their political agenda.
