'We're at war': Homan backs military strikes on cartels
“I support it. There’s a reason the president designated terrorist organizations,” he said.
Border Czar Tom Homan this week stood by the Trump administration using military assets to combat the drug cartels in the wake of a controversy over the targeting of a suspected drug boat in Venezuela.
Speaking to NewsNation on Monday, Homan said that the cartels have "killed more Americans than any war. So, yeah, we’re at war [with] the cartel.”
“I support it. There’s a reason the president designated terrorist organizations,” he said of the use of warships to attack cartel boats.
The U.S. has formally labeled Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as a cartel leader and posted a bounty for his capture. It has further moved to revoke temporary protected status (TPS) for Venezuelans in the U.S.
