Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the head of the new Department of Government Efficiency, announced on Saturday that an email was going out to "all federal employees" asking them to respond with what they did last week.

“Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week,” Musk posted Saturday on X. “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

Prior to the post, President Donald Trump had said Musk was doing a good job in his role but should be more “aggressive.”

CNN obtained a copy of the email that federal employees received.

“Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager. Please do not send any classified information, links, or attachments,” read the email, echoing communications Musk sent to employees at Twitter when he purchased the company.
