Actor William Shatner posted on X that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk should ask President Trump to sign an executive order to "make Pluto a planet again."

Shatner made the comment when reacting to news that scientists might have found a new planet.

“So there’s a 10th planet that was found in our solar system?” Shatner, “Star Trek’s” Captain Kirk, wrote on X.

“I suggest that we get Trump to name it and while he is at it; restore Pluto as a planet and put an end to the union’s tyranny of the cosmos,” wrote the 94-year-old.

In a separate post, Shatner mentioned Musk, specifically.

"We should ask Elon to get the President to sign one of those Executive thingies to make Pluto a planet again," he wrote.

Some of his followers replied in support of the idea.

"I'd support that," a user replied.

One of his followers questioned whether Trump has the authority to name planets.

“Says who? He renamed a Gulf and the Astronomer who discovered Pluto was American. Seems like America has jurisdiction on things outside its borders,” Shatner wrote in response.
