President Trump said at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday that he is "draining the swamp" and "liberating" the nation during his second term.

"The illegal alien criminals are being sent home. We're draining the swamp and we're restoring government by the people, for the people," Trump said.

"This week, I also cancelled Temporary Protected Status for migrants from Haiti. They are pouring into our country, pouring in. If I weren't elected, there would be nobody in Haiti anymore,” he added.

Trump said he is removing illegal immigrants with criminal records from the country.

He touted his approval rating in recent polls between 52-60% as evidence that his agenda is resonating with the public.

"We are keeping our promises," he said.

Trump said his administration, particularly the newly sworn-in FBI director Kash Patel, will "stop the weaponization of the federal government."

He mentioned that he revoked the security clearances of Democrats like former President Biden.

The president also referenced his spat with Maine Democratic Gov. Janet Mills on Friday at the White House, saying that men should not be playing in women's sports.

Trump touched upon the October 7th Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, which he said would not have happened if he was president at the time.

"Iran was broke. They had no money for Hamas or Hezbollah. They had no money to give. Everybody knows that," he said. "They were not giving money around. And when I got out, they took all the sanctions."

Trump argued that he has achieved more in 4 weeks than most administrations in four years.

"We're going to forge new and lasting political majorities that will drive American politics for generations to come," said Trump.

Trump also said he wants to be remembered as a peacemaker.

“As I said in my inaugural address, It’s my hope that my greatest legacy will be as a peacemaker, not a conqueror. I don’t want to be a conqueror,” he said.
