Trump denies reports Netanyahu has been negative in Gaza peace talks: 'He's been very positive'
"It's not true, he's been very positive on the deal, everybody is," Trump said. "I think every nation working on this deal is [positive] ... This is a deal that incredibly everyone just came together. No, Israel has been great."
President Donald Trump on Monday set the record straight on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reactions to a peace plan in Gaza that would end the war with Hamas, after a report claimed Trump blasted Netanyahu as negative.
The clarification comes after Axios reported on Sunday that Trump allegedly cursed at Netanyahu over the peace talks, claiming he was "always so f***ing negative," and that he should accept the "win" for Israel that the peace plan brings.
An unnamed White House official told the outlet that the comment came after Netanyahu supposedly told Trump that the peace plan was "nothing to celebrate" and that it "doesn't mean anything."
Trump denied the interaction during comments to the press at the White House, stating that the prime minister has been "very positive" about the peace talks.
"It's not true, he's been very positive on the deal, everybody is," Trump said. "I think every nation working on this deal is [positive] ... This is a deal that incredibly everyone just came together. No, Israel has been great."
Hamas agreed to aspects of the peace deal last week, which included Hamas releasing all of its hostages back to Israel, including the remains of all dead hostages. It also signaled that it would give up power in the Gaza Strip as a way to end its war with Israel.
