President Trump said Monday that he is sending his border czar, Tom Homan, to Minnesota, where federal immigration deportation efforts have in recent weeks resulted in two deadly encounters with protesters.

“He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there," Trump said Monday. "Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me,” Trump said.

The deaths have resulted in calls by some Americans for Trump to scale back domestic deportation efforts.

Homan will join a growing number of federal officials and agents in Minnesota

Homan will also lead ongoing fraud investigations, said Trump and press secretary Karoline Leavitt, according to NewsNation.co
