White House blasts Durbin on social media over Iran war comments: 'You're a moron, Dick'
Durbin pushed the White House and President Donald Trump to present Americans with a "coherent exit plan" to get out of the war with Iran, which has been going on for six months now.
The White House rapid response team on Friday blasted Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin as a "moron," and accused him of peddling Iranian propaganda regarding the conflict in the Middle East.
Durbin pushed the White House and President Donald Trump to present Americans with a "coherent exit plan" to get out of the war with Iran, which has been going on for six months now.
The senator highlighted that prices in the United States are elevated and that American troops have been injured and died in the conflict.
"You're a moron, Dick," the rapid response team wrote on X. "Iran hasn't exported a single barrel of oil from its shores since the blockade resumed — but U.S. forces have escorted 1,500 vessels and 750 million barrels of crude. You're just peddling the Islamic Republic's propaganda."
The comment comes as the United States struggles to end the conflict, which began in late February. Trump recently vowed to conduct the "most crushing economic operation ever taken" against the Iranian regime.
The president said the operation will constitute "economic warfare," and warned that countries that try to help Iran will face "tremendous economic consequences."
