Man arrested for alleged home invasion, attempted sexual attack in Obama's wealthy DC neighborhood
Police were called to another house in the wealthy neighborhood, which is the former home of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kusher. The property manager said an unwelcome person was on the property.
A 24-year-old Wisconsin man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into the former home of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and allegedly attempting to sexually assault a teen in her family's home in the same wealthy D.C. enclave in which former President Barack Obama lives.
An 18-year-old woman awoke in her bed at about 3 a.m. Wednesday to find a man in her bedroom at her home on Kalorama Road in northwest D.C., according to NBC 4Washington, citing court documents. The man covered her mouth, held her down and said, "I want to be your boyfriend tonight."
The victim was able to get free and flee to a bathroom, and the man fled.
Hours later, police were called to another house in the wealthy neighborhood, the former home of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. The property manager said an unwelcome person was on the property.
According to court documents, police arrived at the home where they encountered Dontrae Henderson, who allegedly told them he lives there. Police say they found what they say are fraudulent documents claiming Henderson was the owner of the vacant residence, which last sold for more than $6 million. While there, police officers noticed he fit the description of the man who broke into the Kalorama Road residence.
Henderson was also arrested on May 3 for attempting to enter a restricted area of the White House, claiming he had an interview with President Donald Trump. He's been arrested twice since for trying to enter the same area.
In 2017, former President Barack Obama purchased a mansion in the same neighborhood for $8.1 million.
