Trump boosts Letlow ahead of Louisiana Senate primary

President Donald Trump on Friday urged supporters to head to the polls in Louisiana to back Rep. Julia Letlow, R-La., in the state's GOP Senate primary.
Letlow is running against Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Louisiana state Treasurer John Fleming. Cassidy was one of several Republican senators who voted to impeach Trump in his second trial after Jan. 6.
"Highly Respected America First Congresswoman, Julia Letlow, of the wonderful State of Louisiana, is a Great Star, has been from the very beginning, and only gets better!" Trump posted on Truth Social. "I know Julia well, have seen her tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and she is a TOTAL WINNER!"
"A Proud Mother of two children, Julia is a wonderful person, has ALWAYS delivered for Louisiana, and would continue doing so in the United States Senate," he added. "Election Day is tomorrow, Saturday, May 16th. Vote for Julia Letlow — She has my Complete and Total Endorsement, and will never let you down!"
Letlow first won election to the House in a 2021 special election, after her husband, Luke Letlow, died before taking office.
