Motorist drives car into crowd in Munich, authorities say at least 28 injured in suspected 'attack'

At least 28 people were injured Thursday in Munich when a motorist drove his vehicle into a crowd, according to multiple news reports.

 Two of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.

The suspect in the incident is believed to be 24-year-old Afghan asylum-seeker, according to CBS News.

Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter said children were among the victims.

Police said that the driver has been "secured" and doesn't pose a threat to the public at this time. 

This incident takes place just two months after a driver drove through a crowd of people in Magdeburg, Germany, and killed five people and injured over 200.
