FBI Director Kash Patel announces deal with 10 whistleblowers for reinstatement and back pay
Grassley, for his part, held a multitude of Senate hearings with several whistle-blowers to highlight the alleged politicization of the agency.
FBI Director Kash Patel on Thursday announced that his agency had concluded agreements with 10 whistleblowers to restore the positions and security clearances, as well as to offer back pay.
"Breaking: agreements have been reached with 10 FBI Whistleblowers (and counsel) to include a combination of back pay, security clearance, and reinstatement. We greatly appreciate [President Donald Trump's] commitment to transparency and accountability. Thank you to [Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa] for working with us to make this happen," Patel posted on X.
Patel himself did not elaborate on the agreement. The FBI under the Biden administration, notably under the tenure of Director Christopher Wray, faced a number of whistleblower allegations of political bias, including over the bureau's handling of Jan. 6 investigations.
Grassley, for his part, held a multitude of Senate hearings with several whistle-blowers to highlight the alleged politicization of the agency.
