Multiple victims wounded in shooting near Seattle’s Space Needle, police say

Multiple people were wounded Sunday evening during a shooting at a food festival at the Seattle Center, a short distance from the city's iconic Space Needle, police said.

"Police are investigating a shooting. Multiple shooting victims. Shots fired at the Seattle Center," the Seattle Police Department reported on X.

Police urged citizens to "please avoid the area" and did not immediately provide conditions for any of the victims.

Police and ambulances began responding around 6 p.m. PT while the Bite of Seattle festival was ongoing.
