Dallas ICE shooter wrote anti-ICE messages on bullets: police
The suspected shooter is dead
Three people were shot at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Dallas facility on Wednesday, one of whom was killed, while two others were injured and taken to a hospital, according to police.
Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Dallas field office Joe Rothrock said during a press conference on Wednesday that the suspected shooter wrote anti-ICE messages on the rounds of ammunition.
Rothrock added that they are not releasing the identities of the victims at this time, but that no law enforcement members were injured during the shooting. He said that it is an ongoing investigation between the FBI, federal and local partners "to ensure anyone responsible is held accountable."
Dallas police said that officers responded to the facility around 6:40 a.m. local time, which the suspect shot at from a nearby building, FOX 4 reported. The victim who was killed died at the scene, and the suspected shooter is confirmed dead.
The suspect was a sniper on a roof armed with a rifle, according to the news outlet's police sources.
The shooter, whom authorities identified as a white man, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head as agents approached.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that there was a shooting at the ICE facility in Dallas.
"Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities," Noem posted on X. "The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families."
