Two men have been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans whose bodies were found in a backyard after party to watch the final game of the team's 2024 regular season.

The defendants, Jordan Willis and Ivory Carson, were also charged Wednesday with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, in addition to the three counts of involuntary manslaughter, according to the Associated Press.

Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37, were found dead in Willis' backyard in Missouri after going to Willis' house to watch the Chiefs play the San Diego Chargers ion January 2024.

Their deaths attracted national attention after McGeeney’s fiancée went looking for him when he failed to return home, them his body along with Johnson and Harrington's were found.

A doctor with a forensic lab later determined that the combined toxicity of fentanyl and cocaine killed them, according to the probable cause statement obtained by the Associated Press.

Witnesses say that the friends were all doing drugs together at Harrington's house, then later Willis' home.

Some witnesses said that Willis has a history of giving drugs to his friends, but his attorney is saying there is no evidence Willis gave the drugs to his friends who died, the wire service also reports.

“It has been a very, very long year for Jordan,” said his attorney John Picerno. "He’s lost his job. He’s lost his home. He’s lost his friends. The public are pointing at him as someone who essentially killed them. And nothing could be further from the truth.”
