Don Jr. brushes off prospect of VP Nikki Haley amid reported 'desperate push' from donors

Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday appeared to dismiss the prospect of his father naming former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley as his running mate, suggesting that such a choice would lead to his swift impeachment.
Trump Jr. made the remarks in an X post in response to claims from conservative commentator Mark Levin about a "HUGE LAST MINUTE, DESPERATE PUSH behind the scenes by wealthy GOP donors and RINO corporate media for President Trump to choose Nikki Haley for VP running mate."
"Nikki Haley, who served as the puppet of Democrat billionaires and warmongerers, would be a wonderful choice is my dad wants to get impeached within about 7 seconds of being sworn in. She's they're last hope!" Trump Jr. quipped.
A foreign policy hawk, Haley drew support during the Republican primary from traditional and establishment Republicans while her rivals labelled her a "neocon," an often pejorative shortening of "neoconservative" intended to denote aggressive advocates for U.S. military intervention.

His son, however, has previously offered similar criticisms of Haley, saying in December that "[s]he’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington, DC. She’s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class because they want control— no different than academia and Harvard and using their billions to exercise influence.”
“I wouldn’t have her and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn’t happen,” he said of the prospect of Haley joining the ticket at the time.
